APB Ad Continues!!

AGENDA 5/29/08: READ THE BLOG to find out what you need to do in class.

  • Add a background other than white to your stage.
  • Write out the message your Add is going to convey.

  • upload the flash movie you have started . Do not worry if its not finish, i just need to check your progress. I KNOW YOU ARE WORKING HARD! I will be checking exactly at 8:30am, therefore be sure that your file is publish and its called name_apb_add!

CLASSWORK: The commercial will be worth 100 pts. The best commercials will be use for the front page of our web page. Please be good with the sub!!

Project: You will create a 20 sec. flash ad (commercial) for APB. Your audience consist of middle school students and parents. The objective of the ad is to persuade them to come to our school (not to scare them away enrique!). Today you will accomplish the following.
  1. Manipulate the 5 images you found on the internet using fireworks.
  2. Make sure that by the end of today you have at least 3 different tweens on your add
  3. Make sure that your stage has a background color other than white.
  4. Draw out the vector objects in flash. Remember vectors are better to work with in flash.
  5. The first rough draft of the project will be due on MONDAY!! yes i am giving you an extension. No one came after school yesterday, to get help with their ad.
  6. In an email write the message that you are trying to convey to kids and parents, through your ad.

I would suggest you open flash and go over the steps as you do them. In another words create a short How to for me. Thanks! be good with the sub!

Shape Tween and Button Continues!!

  • Text Tween and Button project (30 minutes).
  • Finish Button tutorial
  • Go over Scene and Symbols Animation
  • Gradient
  • Timeline Effects
TELL ME ABOUT IT: Make sure you answer in complete sentences.(15 min)
  • Publish the motion tween (put it on the server) you created yesterday. This is the one you were suppose to do for the first activity during class.
  • Define the following terms. Tell me what they do and their differences. Key Frame, Blank Key Frame, Unpopulated Frames, Frames in white, and Frames in Gray area. Do activity 1 and 2 after you are done with the tell me about it.
CLASSWORK: I will grade the projects based on completion and creativity.
  1. Create a shape tween using text. Your movie must be at 20fps. Put a stop action on the 20th frame. After you are done with the text tween, start doing activity two.
  2. Do the following tutorial Creating A Flash Button. Put the button on frame 20 of the above project. You will have 30 minutes to create both projects. You have that amount of time in order for you to practice and be creative with your project. The more creative the project is, the more pts. you will receive. Do not waste time, i will not extend the timeline. The project needs to be on the server by 1:15pm today. Save your project, name it Txt_tween and put it on the server.
  3. Add a replay action script to a button.
  4. Shape Hinting

  6. Gradient Tools and Controlling gradients.

  1. Finish the Office Spot Light Tutorial. You will have until 8:45 to finish the spot light tutorial. Enrique, Edgardo, Govea, and Diaz can help you. Guys please help me help those who are not finish. Dont do it for them, explain to them how to do it.

Masking Continues!!! YEAHHHH

  1. Today you will complete the handwriting flash movie tutorial. You will have 45 minutes to complete it. This tutorial will be due today. You will use the tutorial to help you create a mask of your name. HAVE FUN WITH IT. click here for tutorial. Once you are done with the handwriting tutorial, come to me so you can start the Office Spot Light Tutorial.
  2. After 45 minutes you will start the Office Spot Light Tutorial. The second project does not have a tutorial, but if you do the handwriting tutorial and pay close attention to it, you will have no problem with the second project.

Bee Flash Presentations II

GENDA 4/30/08: Flash Project is due Tomorrow at 9:00am.

  • Present "Endangered Bees" flash project
  • Go over layers, key frames, motion tweens, shape tweens and masking.
TELL ME ABOUT IT: Make sure you answer in complete sentences.
  • What are layers? How are layers used in flash? Why are layers important? After you are done with your tell me about it, make sure your .fla and .swf files are on the server. You will use them to explain how you created the flash movie.
CLASSWORK: I will grade this project based on completion and creativity.
  1. We will start presenting projects at 8:15 am. Be ready to explain how you created your flash movie. Make sure you know what frames, motion tweens, objects, and layers are. You will also tell us what tools you used to create your flash movie.
  2. Edgardo, Govea, Juan Diaz, and Tapia will teach you guys how to create layers, key frames, motion tweens, shape tweens, add stop action and masking.

Bees Flash Presentations

  • Why is it important to make an object into a symbol when using flash? What are the different types of symbols you may convert an object into?
CLASSWORK: I will grade this project based on completion and creativity.
  1. Keep working on your "endangered bees" flash movie. Save your movie as a .fla file and .sfw file. Once you are done with your bee movie, upload both files to your folder on the server.
  2. We will start presenting your project at 8:45 am. Be ready to explain how you created your movie. Make sure you know what frames, motion tweens, objects, and layers are. You will also tell us how you used the tools to create your movie.
